- i mean, it could be option C, could it not?(7 votes)
- Noo
The key here is to be strict. Don't make assumptions and don't also make predictions. Stick with the passage and the summary you made. Choice C said something about 'further testing' and 'validation' which text 2 doesn't mention nor support.(39 votes)
- so confused between B and C(15 votes)
- how is it not answer C ? i thought we aren't supposed to be extreme and misguided as a tone sounds extreme . it could totally be C, they keep saying it "maybe too harmful" so they could do further tests to validate or invalidate it?(11 votes)
- The first line of text 2 says "biochemists tested the effects of compound x on human cells and DNA" so they already tested the effect of compound x and then they they found that it’s harmful while the text 1 says it can be used for infections. I hope this helped.(3 votes)
- Wouldn't the Bio chemists think that the conclusion is preliminary due to text 1 using the words "promising candidate" referring to how further examination will be required before it is accepted to be a cure?(8 votes)
- I thought that choice C would be the answer because in choice B it says that compound X "may" be harmful to human cells and DNA when the text clearly says "it caused significant damage to the DNA of both normal and cancerous cells". Wouldn't the tone of choice B be considered too vague/uncertain for the findings in Text 2?(7 votes)
- It's not choice C because in Text 1 the researchers concluded that Compound X was going to be used for an antidote for certain diseases. In Text 2, the biochemists actually use Compound X on humans and find that It is harmful to the human cells and DNA. Therefore, Text 2 is saying that Text 1's conclusion is incorrect because it is not safe for humans. So answer B is correct not C. C says compound X needs more testing, but it doesn't, the biochemists in text 2 already experimented with it. So choice B is correct.
Hope that helped.(1 vote)
- ✨i wanna prove im right✨(5 votes)
- but why it is not A, the text 2 has information about it(3 votes)
- Tomiris,
A big factor of medicinal consideration is are there any side effects? Option A directly contradict this logical view, saying that Compound X is beneficial because of its toxicity does not make sense. While Text 2 has information about it, we must remember that the Text is actually talking about how Compound X is too toxic for therapeutic use, which directly contrasts the view of Text 1.
You got this(4 votes)
- so confused between B and C too(3 votes)
- C is just being repetitive, No further validation is needed we already know compound x is harmful(1 vote)
- man these question seem easy but the answer is very close to the other ones so it makes it challenging(2 votes)
- I dont get why it isnt choice c(1 vote)
