- How long do you have to stay in college(5 votes)
- Typically four years to get a Bachelor's degree. There are many two-year schools as well.(8 votes)
- What if you get very low grades and can't get into college?(3 votes)
- Hi Marcus,
Here in the States, there is always a way to grow and improve. For example, if you did not graduate from high school, you could work towards getting a GED.
Or, if you did graduate high school but cannot get into a university, you could start out at a community college. They generally have very low barriers to entry and are a great way to work your way up, as well as save money since they are typically much cheaper than a university.
I noticed that your profile says you are from China - I am not sure whether or not you have similar options available in China, but you could always check!
Remember, you can learn anything!(3 votes)
- is university better than college?(3 votes)
- Going to a college would be much smaller than going to a university. In a college, it is a small institution where they spotlight undergraduates in a huge range of academic areas. On the other hand, if one chooses to go to a university, they would be exposed to plenty of undergraduate and graduate degree programs. Additively, a university is a larger institution and they produce a lot of research so their students can succeed. Applying for a university would be much harder to get in versus applying to a college. Altogether, it is up to one to decide whether college or university is best for them. Every person is different, so it is always okay to seek help when needed, but make sure, the decision is all yours!! Hoped this helped!(2 votes)
- what types of things can you learn in collage? i am very interested in going to collage, but i don't get the feeling yet... i am sort f scared, so many people have told me that its hard, its scary, its nice, okay, easy. so i am kinda worried... can you help me?(2 votes)
- Well, it depends what kind of job you want. Different colleges offer different majors and some colleges are better than others. Some of the careers you have to go to college for are teaching, doctor, architect, or business. And there are many, many more.
As to being hard, it depends on you. Maybe you're really good at math so you want to be an accountant, so those classes are easy. But maybe you have to take an English class as well, and that's more difficult for you. College is definitely something you should think about as you consider what kind of career you want. Hope this helps!(3 votes)

Video transcript
- Having gotten to college
and being there 4 years I've had so many great experiences. I've had so many great opportunities. Going abroad twice,
South America and Europe. I never imagined I could've done that and after college I've done those things. Working tech companies, those
were far away from my mind. I never thought I'd
work in a tech company. I never thought it was
for me and then here I am, fielding offers from companies
right now at the end of it. The friends I've met, they're
off doing start-ups right now or being the next doctors or
the next political leaders. College really introduced all of that to me and gave me that. Of course I worked hard
for it, who doesn't? Once you make it to college, it's a testament that you worked hard and here you are getting
something from it. I stand by that. You get out of it what you
put in and if you never try then you'll never know what college is. College is unique and it'll
be different for everyone. You'll never have the same
experience as I've had but you'll have memorable
experiences yourself and you'll think back and be like, "Wow, "college was amazing and
I'm glad I really did it"
