Petra: UNESCO Siq Project
The UNESCO Siq Project is all about preserving the ancient city of Petra in Jordan. This video shows how experts use 3D scanning to map the city's main entrance, the Siq, and protect it from erosion. It's a cool mix of history, technology, and conservation!

- From the articles and this video, it seems like tourism is open for this.
Are tourists allowed to go inside as well, or just view the outside?
Will there be any articles or videos discussing the interiors of these?(5 votes)- Yes, tourists can visit Petra. The interiors of the tombs are largely unadorned, rock-cut chambers. - What petra affected by the terrorist groups such as isis etc...?(2 votes)
- No. Petra was not affected. It is located in Jordan, kind of far from where Daesh and etc. were / are active.(2 votes)
- The ruins are magnificent outside, and it was mentioned that the one called the monastery has a hall with a bench inside, but what about the insides of the others? Are they basically just holes in the wall with Potemkin Village fronts?(2 votes)
